Liturgy of the Twenty-Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time - 11/10/2026

The Word of God speaks to us today of the Invitation to the Wedding of the Lamb, and the Wedding Garment. That is: Do you prepare as God commands, to go to the Wedding of the Lamb?

FIRST READING (Isaiah 25:6-10)

In the First Reading, Isaiah's messianic and eschatological prophecy (time of the messiah and end times)finds its fulfillment in Jesus Christ and the banquet of the Eucharist:

· The great banquet (Is 25:6) of "succulent delicacies and fine wines" is the Eucharist.

· The removal of the veil (Is 25:7) symbolizes the spiritual ignorance, sin, and darkness of death that Christ dispels by revealing God's truth to all nations.

· The annihilation of death (Is 25:8) is interpreted with the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, overcoming sin and death, and opening the gates of eternal life (1 Corinthians 15).

· The wiping away of tears (Is 25:8) represents God's ultimate consolation and redemption from human pain (Revelation 21:4).

· Mount Zion represents the Catholic Church, the universal meeting place where all peoples converge to receive salvation, the Holy Eucharist: "He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life..." John 6:54.

SECOND READING (Philippians 4:12-14,19-20)

In the Second Reading, St. Paul says that he knows how to live in abundance and scarcity; and that he can do everything by uniting himself to Jesus Christ who strengthens him. This reading is based on divine providence, the virtue of temperance, and union with Christ in the midst of difficulties. Union with Christ, Holy Communion (Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity), gives us the supernatural ability to remain faithful to God in any circumstance.

GOSPEL (Matthew 22:1-14)

In the parable that Jesus teaches in the gospel about the Kingdom of Heaven, we can see that the King is God, and the Wedding for His Son is the Wedding of the Lamb, Jesus Christ and His Church. Among those whom God (the King) invites to the wedding, we can distinguish four groups:

a) The Jewish people who rejected God and his commands.

b) The Jews who mistreated and killed the prophets (servants) that God (the King) sent announcing repentance of their sins and the coming of His Son, the Messiah.

Here I interrupt to say that, "the King was filled with anger and commanded his troops, to kill those murderers and set fire to the city", is understood as a prophetic announcement of the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD, and the Levitical priesthood (animal sacrifice) replaced by the priesthood of the Catholic Church that Jesus Christ founds with Peter as the 1st Pope. An eternal priesthood in the Order of Melchizedek (Offering of Bread and Wine - > The Holy Eucharist: the Body, the Blood, the Soul and the Divinity of Jesus Christ).

c) Since the Jewish people rejected the invitation, then God commands everyone to be invited. It is the Universal (Catholic) call: "good and bad." God makes no distinction, everyone is invited. Today, the Wedding of the Lamb is Holy Mass here on earth, and Eternal Life in the presence of God in Heaven.

d) Coming to the Wedding of the Lamb requires grace and an interior transformation. Those who "are not dressed in the wedding garment" are those who come to Holy Mass but continue in their sins with their worldly life. They do not recognize or confess their sins, or they approach the Holy Eucharist without the awareness that they are going to eat the 2nd. Person of the Holy Trinity (God the Son, Jesus Christ). They are the hypocrites who appear to be holy but inwardly do not make an effort to live it. For these, Jesus says very harsh words: "Bind him hand and foot and throw him out into darkness. There will be weeping and despair." This is eternal damnation, hell.

---///---

My dear brothers and sisters, I invite you to meditate on this and examine your conscience:

With which group do you identify yourself today?

a) The group that is not interested in God and His commandments and prefers to go to their respective businesses.

b) The group that rejects the Priests and the Catholic Church, and does not go to Holy Mass.

c) The group that joyfully receives the sacraments instituted by Jesus Christ and goes to Holy Mass in a state of grace (confesses their sins) and receives Holy Communion.

d) The group of hypocrites who appear to be holy, go to Holy Mass, but in their private lives they continue in the pleasures of the world and in sin.
